There is a message from internet explorer that will not go away!?

I can hide it easily but I can't get rid of it. A message comes up saying Application error 'the instruction at "0x62308d19" referenced memory at "0x01e23df4". The memory could not be "read"' Every time I click on it to close the message it just opens another one replacing the numbers with "0x7c9105f8" and "0x01e20010". I have bought a virus-scan and spy-ware program. Neither one have gotten rid of it even after running it in Safe-mode. My internet explorer won't even work anymore. I tried to uninstall it but I can't. I have no idea what is left to do.

The first thing you need to do is stop the viruses from working. Your anti virus software is just not good enough.

1. Uninstall all anti virus and and toolbars that detect spyware and ad ware. These programs put a virus on your PC to coerce you into buying their product - and they take up a fair amount of space.

2. Go to start and run msconfig. This will bring up your start menu options. Deselect everything in the Service and Startup tabs - except for Microsoft programs and the ones you need for your modem/connection to the web. You'll have to reboot your PC, but this stop the viruses from loading.

3. After you've rebooted, go to Limewire.com and download Norton anti Virus. Follow the instructions to install and get it registered. Disconnect your modem

4. Do a full system scan. Norton will want to reboot. After rebooting, Norton will want to do another scan. After this scan, reboot your PC and reconnect your modem.

5. Norton will want to update its anti virus software. Go to LiveUpdate and let Norton update.

6. Run msconfig again and select a Normal startup. You'll have to reboot.

7. Do another full system scan. Your system should now be free of viruses, fully protected and you have a registered, functioning copy of Norton Anti Virus.
hi, there maybe some virus with you IE.

i recommand you to try firefox.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

download firefox for free:

Can I install both Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP1 and Firefox and use them alternately? and if so

I have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP1, but sometimes have problems with it - getting disconnected (a window from Microsoft will appear telling me IE has encountered a problem and will have to close), error messages (while trying to connect, something in IE has performed an illegal function and will have to close), problems with scripting, etc. When I have these problems with Microsoft IE, I would like to swithch to Firefox.

I have 4 different browsers on my computer...no problem. But you will have to choose only one as your default browser. Firefox will prompt you if you want to make it your default.

I have both installed and netscape. I use all three at the sametime! But IE does have its issues so I do use the other two more. (there are some web sites that the features only work in IE) Example: http://snscreations.com/
Perhaps you would be better off getting rid of the viruses and spware causing your IE problems.
you have to fix the ie problem as firefox will have problems at some levels of the software as they use same networking software layers.

do full MS update then try again
Friend,

i would advice u to install Firefox Alone. U may feel dat u might need IE 6 to enter somes sites. In that case, u can install d IE plugins from d firefox site.

Also, Firefox has tabbed browsing which is very useful. All the best pal!!!!
Of course you can

Download Firefox and install it, Windows will create a FireFox Icon on your Desktop, double-click it and... use FireFox !
There no conflicts in your PC if you have both.

Looks like your IE about to crash, you need something to get you on-line if it happens.

What you really need to do is install firefox and yahoo toolbar with SPY REMOVAL, because there reasons why your IE CRASHES.

...did I mention to run antispy? (-:

Computer won't let me do anything except log on to internet explorer. Then the icons on desktop

For some reason starting yesturday night the computer started acting really slow. I ran a virus scan through Norton Anti-Virus and it detected one item and resolved it. Now whenever I turn the computer on the only thing I can do is log on to internet explorer and then all of the icons on the desktop disappear. I can't get into any of my folders or anything. If someone knows what could be causing this I would really appreciate a answer back.

Oh one more thing after the computer 1st turns on a error message saying "Error in: C:\Users\Esko\AppData\Local\Temp|ontjmaa... entry:run" keeps popping up and that has never happened before.

Thank you.

Unfortunately there's no easy way to go back, your most likely infected with more than one virus and I'm sure Norton deleted a necessary file thinking it was doing you a favor, and now your going to have to reinstall windows. If you don't know how, your going to want to take it in. If you think you can do it yourself, than by all means try, if you have any questions, e-mail me at aatrent@gmail.com. And please never use Norton again, it get's the easiest viruses just so it can say it's an antivirus, every computer I've known to have it has been infected with viruses easily. As for a replacement "FREE" and really good anti-virus go to avast.com they have the best anti-virus out there. And for others who may denote it's worthiness both Linux server admin's and Microsoft themselves recommend it.

Please help,a problem with my internet explorer???microsoft windows internet explorer

What do you mean by (to create your profile)

And how did you post this?
You didn't provide the link to the site, so it's hard to tell.

It makes me think that that particular website is trying to run some poorly programmed / malicious code on your PC.

Try with Firefox.
Make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer and set your computer to automatically install critical updates from Microsoft.

To check for updates, go to:

windowsupdate.microsoft.com

To set auto-updates:

Start %26gt; Control Panel %26gt; Automatic Updates - set to download %26amp; install

You can try Firefox (I use both) - but I've run into web sites that Firefox crashes on also, or that have compatibility problems with firefox.

Good luck.
You can reload Internet Explorer from Microsoft. You have a corrupted file.

See

How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer in Windows XP

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378

You can view it through Firefox if IE does not work.

==============

You may also try a reinstall though

Control Panel

Add / Remove Programs
Once you get this problem you'll continue to get it until you turn your computer off and totally re-boot it cold.

Once you do that I'd suggest as others have that you make sure you have downloaded and installed all the patches from Microsoft via the Microsoft Update screen.

Pastor Art
Perhaps, try upgrading if possible. Either that or re-install.

I recently upgraded to internet explorer 7.0 and now i get an error every time i exit IE. how do i f

You need to get rid of the IE7 Microsoft created it to try to compete with firefox. Firefox is way better. However, You will need to download IE6 to use for sights that are not compatible with firefox.
